International Student Competition 2026
In partnership with Aralia Education
Our annual International Student Creative Contest celebrates the talent, imagination, and courage of young creatives from around the world. Held annually in collaboration with Aralia Education, the contest invites middle and high school students to share original works of writing and visual art that reflect creativity, personal voice, and thoughtful expression.
Now in its fourth year, the contest received nearly 150 submissions from students studying in the United States, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and China. From this impressive group, 10 outstanding works were selected for print publication, representing the year's strongest pieces.
This year’s top honours include Gold Award winner Yao Wang for the satirical piece The ABCs of Being an ABC, Silver Award winner Alysa Wu for the acrylic painting Reaching for an Absolution, and Bronze Award winner Katherine Wu for Ghost Girl. You can find these pieces, and our seven honourable mentions from page 117 onwards, in the latest edition of the magazine.
Because so many submissions demonstrated originality, intention, and artistic control, an additional 30 pieces made it into our long-list. These pieces are published in the gallery below.
