My Mind Keeps Running
Written by Maryam Alsammarriaie from Russell Sage College - Troy, NY
Every now and then I hesitate
Reading my thoughts, I am unfazed
My lips aren’t able to communicate
Your body against mine doesn’t separate My pants on the counter, soft and laced Every now and then I hesitate
What is it that we celebrate?
Looking at you, I am dazed
My lips aren't able to communicate
The eyes see and the mind creates
Was every “I love you” misplaced?
Every now and then I hesitate
Perhaps I am too late
Your name, In my heart engraved
Your name, my lips aren't able to communicate
The fireworks in my heart celebrate
Everyday, a feeling of peace
My lips aren't able to communicate
The love I have, so every now and then I hesitate.
