Purpose of Meeting

To discuss and project the Spring 2026 line of Barbie dolls and consider 2024/2025 sale trends and changes in market views.

Assessment of 2024 Sales Trends

Most sold Barbies:

  • The meeting opened with John Thinks Men is Superior Dickinson listing newly released Barbies in Winter 2024: RBG Barbie, Santa’s Slave Barbie, Housewife Barbie, Y2K Barbie, Sugar Baby Barbie
  • John Thinks Men is Superior Dickinson listed the best-selling Barbies in 2024: Taylor Swift Barbie, Kamala Harris Barbie, Housewife Barbie, Classic Barbie, Your Body Your Choice Barbie, Jane Goodall Barbie

Discussion:

  • Donald Stalks Female Colleagues' Instagram Barlowe: “Our Taylor Swift Barbie seems to be doing very well this year; the Kamala Harris Barbie too, especially during the pre-election period. Kids on the internet like the Your Body Your Choice Barbie (YBYC) as well.” Mike Loves Women’s Bodies Thatcher and John Thinks Men is Superior Dickinson agrees. Mike Loves Women’s Bodies Thatcher adds that his children have been asking for the YBYC Barbie after supplies ran out.
  • Lukas Women Belong in the Kitchen Slowan raises questions from ToysRus buyers, “Right, but I don’t think our buyers want to continue them. The current trend we see as a marketing team is girl power and feminism. It’s getting a bit too much for ToysRus.” The rest of the team, other than John Thinks Men is Superior Dickinson, agree, one argument being that they wouldn’t want their children to be badly influenced by the ‘overly feminist’ Barbies. They are sure that other parents wouldn’t either.
  • John Thinks Men is Superior Dickinson suggests it’s fine since the popular Barbies are earning Mattel a lot of money — suggestion to keep them in circulation alongside a new line of Barbies - increasing diversity etc.
  • Mike Loves Women’s Bodies Thatcher, “Mattel, more like Sh*ttel! I can’t work for an organization that doesn’t react to market shifts. All that money goes to the founders anyway. I hate that entire talk about feminism; it doesn't do our society any good in my opinion. ToysRus doesn’t like it either, do they? We should discontinue these Barbies in our new release.”
  • All members of the meeting accepted the suggestion of a complete Barbie line renovation.

Marketing Plan for Spring 2026 Release

Your Body My Choice Barbie (replace YBYC Barbie)

  • Richard Hates Women Miller suggested a Your Body My Choice Barbie to replace the Your Body Your Choice Barbie. “Because it’s trending on social media - I bet we could turn those likes into sales.’  It would also be a nice way to combat feminist ideological spread. The YBYC Barbie has had an incredibly influential impact on girls and women across the country, and sometimes even amongst men. The team agrees that the Your Body My Choice Barbie best represents the submission of women to men, demonstrating their strong masculinity.
  • Visual design will be made shortly and pitched at the next production meeting.

Teen Pregnancy Barbie

  • Inspired by Your Body My Choice Barbie, Teen Pregnancy Barbie is a result of banned abortion policies, a political football that reared its ugly head again in the recent Presidential election.
  • Visual design by Joseph Looks at Little Girls Weirdly Landon: a blond, slim-figured teenage girl Barbie with an oddly bulging stomach. The stomach can be opened to reveal a small embryo Barbie. Teen Pregnancy Barbie is dressed in a preppy school uniform – a button-down, short-sleeve shirt, a mini plaid skirt, and gleaming Mary Janes.
  • Potential ideas of an Irresponsible Boyfriend Barbie who abandons Teen Pregnancy Barbie after she confronts him about her pregnancy. The design is to be confirmed after the release of Teen Pregnancy Barbie.

Amy Coney Barret Barbie (replace RBG Barbie)

  • With the entire team supporting the act of removing RBG Barbie, Lukas Women Belong in the Kitchen Slowan suggested an Amy Coney Barret Barbie in replacement, which received a standing ovation from his colleagues.
  • Lukas Women Belong in the Kitchen Slowan, in his argument to remove RBG (not that anyone opposed the idea), “She’s pretty outdated, I’d say. Hell, I remember when she died, her last words were to not ‘replace me’ or something. To stop Trump from something or other? Look what happened though, Amy Coney Barret stepped up to become the most influential female on the Supreme Court  – she is the only one who really speaks to me (and all of us men). And anyway, I think I speak for all men at this table when I remind you that we can’t have RBG’s wishes coming true in the Barbie world either. What a joke.”
  • Visual design to resemble real-life Amy Coney Barret as much as possible.

The First Lady Barbie (replace Kamala Harris Barbie)

  • Following the recent ‘downfall’ of Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party, the team believes that it is their most urgent need to discontinue the Kamala Harris Barbie, and potentially attempt to remove such remaining Barbies that currently exist in the marketplace or the hands of their consumers. In replacement will be a First Lady Barbie that takes inspiration, essentially, from Melania Trump, the current wife of President Donald Trump.
  • Richard Hates Women Miller, “Well, we all know how the election ended, and I sure hope we’re all happy about it; I sure am. Either way, Kamala’s gone forever and thankfully we don’t have our first female African American president. Like c’mon, think about it, men are born leaders, so who better than men to lead our country? And especially a white one! Can you even imagine America with a female leader? I mean, if you ever supported Kamala Harris, I might as well fire you – just kidding. But maybe I will. Anyways, now that Trump is our president again, thank God, we should do something to honor his term.”
  • Visual design by Joseph Looks at Little Girls Weirdly Landon: a tall, slim Barbie with wavy hair dressed in Melania Trump’s red coat dress. The Barbie’s face lacks 3D facial features; instead, a sticker of Donald Trump’s face will be used.
  • Joseph Looks at Little Girls Weirdly Landon, “After all, she’s just a female version of Donald Trump.”

Spring Break Barbie (replace Santa’s Slave Barbie)

  • To match the changing of seasons and fit with the theme of spring, the team decided to replace Santa’s Slave Barbie, a winter holiday-themed Barbie, with the Spring Break Barbie, which is the signature holiday of the season.
  • Mike Loves Women’s Bodies Thatcher, “God damn, I love that movie. I watch that thing whenever I get sick of my wife; it reminds me of my time back in college before I got with that over-controlling woman. Not that she’s ugly or anything – I married her for her looks after all – but don’t you think women these days are too protective of their bodies?”
  • Visual design by Mike Loves Women’s Bodies Thatcher: inspired by the movie ‘Spring Breakers’, Spring Break Barbie resembles the four college girls, with sand-covered brunette hair, dressed in a set of skimpy bikinis. She holds a bottle of sunscreen in one hand, and a half-empty can of beer in the other.

Mardi Gras Barbie (in addition to Spring Break Barbie)

  • Also matching the spring theme, Mardi Gras Barbie takes inspiration from the holiday ‘Mardi Gras’ and its strong traditions in New Orleans. The idea was suggested by Donald Stalks Female Colleagues' Instagram Barlowe.
  • Donald Stalks Female Colleagues' Instagram Barlowe, “As a proud New Orleans resident, I grew up going to Mardi Gras parades every year since I was 9. It’s my favorite holiday of the year, I must say. Hey, you guys should come visit me someday on Mardi Gras; I promise you lots of fun there. All you gotta do is bring some beads beforehand, and the women will come running to you. They’ll practically do anything for those beads – they go crazy for it. Oh, and keep an eye out for the balconies…”
  • Visual design by Joseph Looks at Little Girls Weirdly Landon and Donald Stalks Female Colleagues' Instagram Barlowe: a blonde, topless Barbie with messy, ruffled hair, a thick chain of colored beads around her neck, and a green-yellow-purple mask covering her face.

Battered Wife Barbie (in addition to Housewife Barbie)

  • Due to the fact that Housewife Barbie is one of the top 10 Barbies sold in 2024, despite only being released for 2 months, John Thinks Men is Superior Dickinson suggests a Battered Wife Barbie, following the theme of oppressed women in households. The team agrees that this could become a strong seller, and sees potential in releasing an entire ‘__ Wife Barbie’ collection.
  • Visual design by Joseph Looks at Little Girls Weirdly Landon: a blond Barbie with bruises over her body, dressed in worn-down pajamas and a messy bun.
  • Following Battered Wife Barbie would be a potential Abusive Husband Ken, that could be sold in a set. However, the team agrees to keep this idea on paper first and will release it in the summer, if Battered Wife Barbie sales are doing well.
